When I was approached to design a Budweiser can for their series with Major League Baseball teams I knew it had to be the Red Sox.
These cans were featured on billboards, available at Fenway and distributed to liquor stores within a 70 mile radius of Boston for an entire season. There was even a larger than life can made for some epic photo ops. That spring you couldn’t go anywhere without being reminded you were in Red Sox Nation.
Drawing from my childhood experiences of night games, foul balls, and Fenway Franks, I was thrilled to capture the essence of what the Boston Red Sox meant to the people of Boston. The Red Sox were not winning championships when I was a kid, I grew up rooting for the underdog, something I still do today.
